Healthy Living Afterschool

Approximately 37% of Delaware children are overweight or obese and are at a higher risk than healthy weight children for developing serious health problems such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, abnormal cholesterol, etc.

Afterschool and summer programs are key partners in a comprehensive approach to ensure healthy futures for our youth by providing environments that promote and support healthy behaviors.  A number of Delaware organizations are working together to increase quality healthy eating and physical activity programming and to make healthy choices the standard in afterschool and summer settings.
